Four seasons in one day
As Ensemble Reza’s resident Graphic Designer, I don’t often get the opportunity to join in musically with our fantastic musicians, but today I felt part of something extremely special, musical and moving.
I was invited to watch the culmination of the series of workshops our musicians have just completed at Ingfield Manor, a school for students with neurological motor impairment. The theme of ‘Time’ was represented by the four groups of students focusing on a season each of the year.
Meticulous musicianship by Ensemble Reza allowed for subtle conversations between instruments and student voices. This, teamed with beautiful piano playing by one student, lots of drumming, recorder squeaks, electric guitar strumming and bongo bashing, shouting, singing and lots of clapping, created a world of sound that allowed everyone, audience included, to get into the rhythms of time.
The depth of joy and concentration was evident from all the students, resulting in a fabulously fun, uplifting musical experience for us all.
It was a privilege to be at Ingfield today and it is a privilege to be part of a team that can fill a hall with so much happiness.
