September Song

It was lovely to open this season of lunchtime concerts at Broadfield today with Matt and Miriam performing violin and viola duets. The programme opened with the very aptly named September Song by Julian Broughton, who was in the audience and wrote this piece last year for Miriam to perform. This was then followed by Haydn’s Sonata in C which evoked cosy, autumnal evenings by the fire. Martinů’s three madrigals closed the concert which are so full of notes, the musicians barely have time to turn pages!

We’re very pleased to be back in Crawley and hope to see you at our evening concert at the Charis Centre on 16th October or at our next lunchtime concert on 28th October… or maybe at both?
