Mendelssohn in Crawley
What a treat we had at last Wednesday’s lunchtime concert in Broadfield. Lucy, Adam, Matt and Sarah brought the sunshine inside with Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No 1 in D major. It is an absolutely stunning piece and each movement has its own unique mood, style and directions. This results in some wonderfully contemplative moments, alongside passion and lots of notes, particularly in the last movement! The audience sat absolutely spellbound throughout.
José Basso’s La Cumparsita followed with all its tango-tastic flavour and rhythms.
Do join us next month - 25th again - for a String Trio with Anna, Matt & Pavlos.
