Drunken Billy goats and a graceful lullaby

We celebrated another busy lunchtime concert on Wednesday at Christ the Lord Church, Broadfield with our Reza string quartet.

Our lively programme this month included a varied repertoire spanning across the centuries from Vivaldi’s Concerto for Strings written over 200 years ago to music written more recently by the Danish String Quartet (do check them out if you’ve not heard their music before!).

A highlight had to be Lullaby for Grown-ups written by late Reza violinist Andrew Thurgood. Played with such beauty and grace, he is fondly remembered by our team.

Rounding off the concert was a fun encore called The Drunken Billy Goat which was greatly enjoyed by our audience with much laughter and applause!

If you missed this concert, don’t worry we have a lovely programme in May … with free concerts, music from the shows and a lovely community event with Diverse Crawley. Check out our Events to see what’s on.
