Cheeky elves entertain school audiences
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been awarded funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England to support our education programme until July 2026. This funding will reach over 4,500 young people aged 5-19 yrs & over 600 teachers from 30 mainstream & SEN schools across Crawley & Mid & East Sussex, Horsham & Hove.
We recently launched our Primary Schools tour and have so far visited 12 schools across Crawley and Mid Sussex. We’ve had a wonderful time performing the Swedish folktale, ‘The Elves Porridge’ composed and narrated by Ensemble Reza musician Anna Cooper. It’s a real privilege to perform live music to such welcoming and enthusiastic young audiences and their teachers.
Cheeky Reza elves Adam, Matt, Sarah and Pavlos have entertained students with beautiful playing, and Anna’s extraordinary narration has held everyone captivated, adults and children alike. One teacher commented,
‘The beautifully narrated tale, enriched by the spellbinding music, captured the attention and imagination of every child in the hall and inspired them to engage with music.’
We’ve also heard that our tour visits are the highlight of school calendars, which is a wonderful endorsement.
Next week we will be finishing our tour and then heading off to more primary schools for music making workshops! We can’t wait!
