A New Season Begins!

Welcome back to our new season of concerts!

There was a real ‘new term’ feeling in the air at our first free lunchtime concert of the season this week! Instead of new school shoes, however, we had our new brochure hot off the press to share, and a beautiful programme of cello duets performed by Reza musicians Pavlos and Sarah.

We were treated to a programme of virtuosic duets, with two pieces standing out in particular. Barry Mill’s evocative duet for two cellos, which momentarily transported me back to my summer by the sea, and Modinha by the Brazilian composer Francisco Mignone, whose hauntingly rich melodies left everyone spellbound.

Of course, no Reza concert is complete without a little audience participation! The programme closed with Scott Joplin’s Rag Time Dance, accompanied by much enthusiastic clapping and stamping! The Church was filled with great cheer as the audience left, and everyone took multiple copies of our new brochure brimming with concert news to share with friends!
