Marilyn Mansfield-Clark MBE DL
Marilyn Mansfield-Clark was born in Rusape, Zimbabwe and became a British Red Cross volunteer at the age of 11.
She was employed by the University of Zimbabwe as a Research Midwife before moving to Crawley Hospital in 1990.
Marilyn then completed her BSc (Honours) Podiatry degree at the University of Brighton in 2000, and continued her community engagement including Cofounding Crawley Black History Foundation (2000-2015) and also Cofounding DIVERSECrawley in 2017, which she is now an Ambassador for.
Crawley Borough Council recognised her 25 years of community service, including setting up food parcels distribution with her Gatwick Seventh Day Adventist Church members, and gave her the Crawley Community Volunteer Award in 2021.
She collaborates with many local organisations and groups such as Crawley Interfaith Network, Ugandan Association, Gambian Association, Tamil Group, GHU and NHS Retirement Fellowship.
Marilyn is currently a Trustee of Longley Trust and was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant of West Sussex in September 2023.
After being widowed, Marilyn recently married Peter Mansfield-Clark MBE.
She was on the King’s New Year’s Honours list, January 2025 for an MBE Award for community services to Crawley – and the Investiture is on 22nd July at Windsor Castle.
She has two children, Charlene and Marlon, and six grandchildren who she spends time with regularly and enjoys reading and travelling.
